MGI Workshop on the Interplay of Experiment, Theory, and Computation
The Materials Genome Initiative (MGI) is a new, multi-stakeholder effort to develop an infrastructure to accelerate advanced materials discovery and deployment in the United States.
The MGI workshop was held in Arlington, VA on December 13-15th, 2012. The particular goal of this workshop was to identify critical areas of materials science and engineering research that stand to benefit from the Materials Genome Initiative, and to highlight the ways in which state-of-the-art computational approaches coupled with careful experimentation can help us realize these goals.
As a result the meeting participants developed a report for the NSF with recommendations and grand challenges based on the speaker suggestions. The MGI 2012-2013 Report.
